Exemptions from FERC Licensing

Upon request, Long View will outline services and a fixed price for securing an exemption from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for small hydropower projects located at an existing dam; as well as for projects located in man-made conduits. Long View can develop a fixed price package to meet the needs of project developers and owners to secure financing and project costs for potential investors. We offer this service because we recognize that managing the financial and regulatory uncertainty over such projects will be vital to securing financing. The types of services that are typical of such an effort are listed below.

Small (<5 MW) Hydro and Conduit Exemptions

Determine if proposed projects qualify for exemption
Perform regulatory and process assessments
Assess proposed projects in the context of Part I of the Federal Power Act
Develop process schedules
Identify available waivers, if applicable
Prepare formal Applications for Exemption for Small Hydroelectric Project
Coordinate with FERC
Develop and file required notifications
Conduct agency/stakeholder consultation
Develop and manage studies, if necessary
Reply to agency mandatory conditions
